Work also began on a giant pericardial cauldron that would protect the desert surface from ash and falling embers. Finally it was time to breakdown Hearth so that it could be reassembled outdoors and on its legs for the first time. Almost time to load it with wood and see what happens.
With a whole lot of help from our friends we were able to get the entire beast together again in one day. Now it was time to start thinking of wood and maybe calling a few people.. not too many 'cause we couldn't be sure just how this thing would respond. Certainly it was the bigest wood stove that either he or I had ever stoked.
