Time for fire. For the first burn we used less than a cord of hardwood. That was also the last time that we used the double tiered loading. Apparently heat doesn't need to be encouraged to go UP. It got so hot that the weight of the wood on the upper level twisted some of the structural support. Later we would add more metal, but for now it was time to just smile.

It worked. Everyone survived. Now we had a lot of work to do reinforcing the internal sturcture and making heat shielding for the most important of these. A great moment that occured while it was in full blaze was that the fire department was dispatched. We heard the sirens going around in circles trying to find the blaze. Because of the way we were set up this warehouse area, they couldn't find us before the flames died down. I guess they gave up and went back to the station.
